What is Bettamousse Foam?

Bettamousse Foam is a prescription scalp treatment containing betamethasone valerate. It belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids and is available in a 100g canister.

Bettamousse Foam is used to treat inflammation, redness, and itching caused by conditions like eczema and psoriasis (a skin condition causes red patches of skin coated in silvery scales). Its foam formulation allows for easy application and quick absorption, providing targeted relief without leaving a greasy residue. It can be prescribed for adults over the age of 18 years.

How does Bettamousse work?

Bettamousse Foam works by delivering betamethasone valerate, a corticosteroid, directly to the affected areas on the scalp. It reduces inflammation, redness, and itching by suppressing the immune response and preventing cells from releasing histamine chemicals, which helps stop these symptoms.

Bettamousse Foam ingredients

Bettamousse contains the active ingredient: betamethasone valerate 0.1%.

Other ingredients include: Ethanol, butane/propane, citric acid anhydrous, stearyl alcohol, purified water, potassium citrate, polysorbate 60, propylene glycol, and cetyl alcohol.

Alternatives to Bettamousse

At Click Pharmacy We offer alternative prescription treatments with the same active ingredient, including Betacap 0.1% Solution and Betnovate Scalp Application, both providing relief from scalp psoriasis.

We also stock a range of over-the-counter treatments to help manage scalp dryness and irritation:

Directions

How to use Bettamousse Foam

Bettamousse Foam is for adults over the age of 18. It should be applied to the affected areas of the scalp twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening). If you do not notice improvement in your condition after 7 days of use, contact your doctor for further advice.

  • Shake the canister well before use.
  • Hold the can upside down and squeeze a golf ball-sized amount of mousse onto a clean surface, like a plate. Don’t squirt it into your hand, as it melts when it touches your skin.
  • Gently apply the foam directly to the affected areas of your scalp.
  • Massage the foam into your scalp using your fingertips.
  • Allow the foam to dry naturally.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after use.
  • Don't wash your hair right after applying the mousse. Let it stay on overnight or throughout the day.
