Treatment Information
Overview
Canesten 1% Cream is a medicated cream designed for the treatment of fungal infections. The cream is helpful for treating ringworm, athlete’s foot, fungal nappy rash, and fungal sweat rash. Canesten 1% also provides quick relief from the symptoms of external thrush found on sensitive areas like the vagina or the end of the penis. This cream also helps to soothe itching and soreness associated with thrush.
Being an antifungal treatment, this cream works by eradicating the yeast that causes the fungal infection. Canesten 1% contains the antifungal agent clotrimazole that tackles the cause of fungal skin infections.
Directions
This cream is suitable for use in both babies and adults.
-
In order to use it, break the seal of the tube before use. Do it by inverting the cap and pressing it against the seal.
-
Put a thin layer of the cream onto the affected area.
-
Gently rub the cream on the skin.
-
Do this process 2 or 3 times a day.
-
The recommended duration of the treatment can vary according to the nature and severity of the infection. A minimum duration of treatment is two weeks. However, it can be extended up to four weeks if the infection is severe.
-
The symptoms, such as itching or soreness, will improve within a few days of treatment. In case the symptoms still show up, consult the concerned doctor.
