Treatment Information
Overview
Tixylix Toddler Syrup is used to soothe and relieve dry, tickly coughs in children aged between 3 months to 5 years of age. This syrup, which contains a pleasant blackcurrant flavour, contains glycerol, which helps to lubricate the throat, reducing discomfort and making it easier for children to cough up mucus.
Tixylix is both colour-free and alcohol-free and is thus a gentle option for little children.
Directions
-
To children whose age is 3–12 months, give one 5 ml spoonful, three to four times a day.
-
To children whose age is 1–5 years, give the dose of two 5 ml spoonfuls, three to four times a day.
-
Give a break of 3 to 4 hours between the doses.
-
Do not use the syrup for more than 5 consecutive days without consulting a doctor.
-
Shake the bottle well before administering medicine to the child.
-
Remove the safety cap and use the measuring spoon that is provided with the syrup.
-
Fill the spoon to the indicated line for a proper dose.
-
This syrup is for oral use only.

Side effects
Though Tixylix Toddler Syrup is well-tolerated in the majority of cases, some children may experience mild side effects. Those side effects can be nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach ache, and headache.
In some rare cases, more serious side effects can also come forth, such as allergic reactions like hives or rash, swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue, and difficulty while breathing.
If any of the above serious side effects appear on you, stop using the syrup and take immediate medical help from a doctor.
Always read the patient information leaflet before starting treatment. The patient information leaflet can be found here and is also available with the physical product.
