Treatment Information
Overview
Son’s Minoxidil 5% is a solution used to reactivate and revitalize hair growth by increasing blood flow to the scalp. This solution is recommended for those adults who are experiencing mild hair loss and have the early signs of a receding hairline or hair loss in the crown area.
How does minoxidil prevent hair loss?
Minoxidil is an active ingredient referred to as a ‘vasodilator’; it widens the blood vessels and enhances the blood supply to the area where it is used. It is also believed to counter the miniaturization of hair follicles and increase the duration of the growth phase of each follicle, leading to improved hair density.
What is male pattern hair loss?
Androgenetic alopecia, commonly referred to as male pattern hair loss is a very prevalent condition that many male adults experience. Statistics show that 50% of men above the age of 50 experience some form of hair loss and 25% of men begin to lose hair before they are 30 years old.
Normally, a hair strand has a life expectancy of approximately four years after which it is shed and replaced by new hair. In male pattern hair loss, the hair follicles in men become thin and shed and, regrettably, do not regrow.
Male pattern hair loss begins at the temples, where hair is lost, making the hairline seem to be receding, or at the crown, where a bald patch develops.
To become fully bald a man takes 15-25 years and this can start at any age. It is not unusual and this disease is normally passed down from one generation to another.
Directions
Apply 1ml 10 sprays) of Son’s Minoxidil solution to the scalp where the recession and/or thinning has been noticed. This process should be done two times a day - once in the morning, once at night. Before applying Son’s Minoxidil, make sure the scalp is fully or mostly dry.
It is also important to ensure that the treated areas should not be exposed to sunlight (even if it is cloudy) or ultraviolet lamps (UVA). Use an SPF 50+ or cover treated area to prevent damage.
Son’s Minoxidil is only intended for use on the scalp, do not apply it anywhere else on the body.
Contact with your eyes, mouth and broken skin must be avoided. If the solution is applied to any area that isn’t the scalp, wash it off thoroughly with water.
Storage information
Store in a well-ventilated area away from heat, sparks, open flames or hot surfaces.
Keep out of sight and reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
