Treatment Information

Overview

Nicotinell Patches are designed to help those who want to quit smoking. The patches assist smokers to quit by providing a consistent supply of nicotine over a  24 hour period. As a result, this eases the intense morning cravings that smokers experience and help them quit smoking for good. These patches are available in three different varieties prepared for different users.

The patches are a great, reliable alternative to smoking (only during the quit smoking process), making them suitable for smokers who want to quit or reduce the amount of cigarettes they take.

Directions

In order to use these patches, there are three steps you should follow:

Those who are heavy smokers, i.e., taking more than 20 cigarettes per day, should start with 21mg patches and then gradually decrease to 14 mg patches and then to 7 mg over a period of 9-12 weeks.

Those who are moderate smokers (smoking less than 20 cigarettes per day) should start with 14 mg first. They should gradually decrease to 7 mg patches over a period of 9-12 weeks.

While those who are light smokers should start with 7 mg patches for 3-4 weeks.

  • Apply a new Nicotinell patch every 24 hours and remove the old one.

  • Make sure that the patch is properly pasted on the skin.

  • Apply the patch to uninjured places only.
