Overview
Buy Metrogel online for Rosacea
Metrogel is a prescription gel used to treat rosacea. You can buy Metrogel online from Click Pharmacy by completing a simple online questionnaire. If approved, your order will be processed with discreet packaging and delivered to the next day.
What is Metrogel?
Metrogel is a prescription-only topical treatment used to treat rosacea. It contains metronidazole, an antibiotic with anti-inflammatory properties that helps reduce redness, inflammation, and irritation associated with rosacea. It is gently applied to the affected area and helps manage symptoms of rosacea effectively.
Metrogel is manufactured by Galderma and available in a 40g tube.
Rosacea symptoms
Rosacea commonly appears on the cheeks, nose, forehead, chin, and eyelids. It can lead to persistent redness (flushing) and irritation, along with other symptoms such as:
- Dry or rough skin
- Swelling on the face
- Red or yellowish patches
- Crusty or sore eyelids
- Persistent redness
- Swelling
- A burning or stinging sensation, especially when washing
- Visible or broken blood vessels
- Small pimples, often filled with pus
How Does Metrogel treat rosacea?
Metrogel contains metronidazole, an antibiotic and antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of medicines called nitroimidazole. When applied to the affected area, it works by targeting bacteria associated with rosacea, damaging their DNA to stop growth and prevent them from multiplying.
By preventing bacteria from multiplying, metronidazole helps control infection and reduce flare-ups. As bacterial activity decreases, redness, irritation, and swelling subside, leading to clearer and healthier-looking skin.

Directions
How to use Metrogel?
To use Metrogel effectively, follow these steps:
- Wash the affected area with warm water and dry it gently.
- Apply a thin layer of Metrogel to all the affected areas of the skin, avoiding the eyes, mouth, and nostrils.
- Let the gel dry completely before applying other skincare products or makeup.
- Wash your hands thoroughly after using the gel.
- Metrogel should be applied twice daily, in the morning and evening, as prescribed by your doctor.
If you forget to use Metrogel, don’t worry. Simply skip the missed dose and continue with your next application as usual. Do not apply extra gel to make up for the missed dose.
Cautions
Side effects
While Metrogel is generally well-tolerated, some users may experience side effects such as:
- Dry and itchy skin
- Skin irritation
- Burning or stinging sensation
- Redness
If you experience severe irritation, allergic reactions, stop using Metrogel and consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
For a full list of side effects and precautions, refer to the patient information leaflet.
Warnings
Before using Metrogel, consider the following warnings:
- Do not use Metrogel if you are allergic to metronidazole.
- People with blood disorders or those taking anticoagulants (such as warfarin) speak to a doctor before using Metrogel
- Metrogel may increase skin sensitivity to sunlight. Use sunscreen if needed.
Metrogel & pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor before using Metrogel. Only a small amount of metronidazole is absorbed into the bloodstream, and its safety during pregnancy is not fully known. Your doctor will decide if it is suitable for you.
Metrogel and alcohol
Taking metronidazole orally can cause a reaction with alcohol. While Metrogel is applied to the skin and unlikely to cause this reaction, it is still advised not to drink alcohol during treatment. Alcohol can also worsen rosacea symptoms, so limiting intake may help prevent flare-ups.
